When Blog Diyiin Bi was started a few months ago, it was intended to be a for-profit venture. It quickly evolved into a ministry blog, and the eCommerce aspects of it look out-of-place mixed in with devotionals, articles on apologetics, and other Christian ministry posts.
So Blog Diyiin Bi will have two new sister blogs. All new articles related to online business that would have been in the “Pastor Marv Recommends” category of Blog Diyiin Bi will now be on one of the new blogs, The Go Light. Some of the reviews that would have been in the “Pastor Marv Recommends” category will now be posted on Christian Internet Resources. There will be a small amount of overlap between all three blogs, and possibly there will be some articles posted on more than one of the blogs, depending on the topic. For instance, a review of Bible study software could be posted on both Blog Diyiin Bi and Christian Internet Resources, with some words and phrases in the article changed so that the search engines won’t flag it as duplicate content.
The Go Light and Christian Internet Resources together will be an expansion of Blog Diyiin Bi’s “Pastor Marv Recommends” category, with The Go Light getting all of the business-related articles and Christian Internet Resources getting all of the software, web site, and other reviews may not fit in with the new ministry-only format of Blog Diyiin Bi. All existing articles that are on Blog Diyiin Bi will stay there because of the fact that they have been indexed by the search engines, but there may be some pingbacks in articles on the other two blogs that point to them. Some articles previously posted to Blog Diyiin Bi may be reworded as stated in the previous paragraph and posted to one of the new blogs, and this article will be slightly reworded and posted to all three blogs!
For both of the new blogs, I will accept and moderate articles by guest writers. If you would like to write articles for either or both blogs, please send me email via the contact link on any of the three blogs. You can place links to your own blogs, squeeze pages, affiliate sites, or other websites in the articles, and since the links do NOT use the “nofollow” attribute, your website(s) will be spidered when the search engines index the blog. Keep in mind that these blogs are owned and operated by a Bible-believing Christian and are intended for a Christian audience, so no articles containing illegal material, warez, so-called “adult” content, etc., or links to those, will be accepted.
I also disabled the “nofollow” attribute for links in comments on the two new blogs (the “dofollow” plugin is installed), so leaving a comment for an existing post will also result in the search engines indexing your websites that have links in your comment. And, of course, any comments with inappropriate content, including links to inappropriate websites, or comments with too many links (one to three links will be OK, depending on the length of your comment), will be removed without notice. Repeat offenders may be blacklisted on all blogs that I moderate. I reserve the right to delete any comment that, in my sole discretion, I deem to be inappropriate. In general, and there may be exceptions to this, I will not delete a comment for the sole reason that the author of it disagrees with me. If a comment has some things of value but also has inappropriate content, I may elect to edit it rather than delete it, but if I do, I will do it in such a way that it will be clear that it was edited. (And the edited comment just might have the “nofollow” attribute added to any links, depending on the reason it was edited. I don’t want to waste “link juice” on garbage!)
I will also consider accepting articles by guest authors for Blog Diyiin Bi, but will be much more selective about article content, the qualifications of the author, and subject matter. Contributing authors for Blog Diyiin Bi should be involved in ministry, either full-time (such as pastors, evangelists, etc.), or part-time, such as Sunday school teachers and other lay leaders. If you are not faithful to your local church, or if you are an evangelist who thinks he doesn’t need to be part of a local church, don’t bother asking to write for Blog Diyiin Bi. I may request references from your pastor or others before accepting any articles from you. If you would like to write articles for Blog Diyiin Bi, use the contact link on the blog and tell me a little about your Christian experience, what type of ministry you are involved in, and what type(s) of articles you would like to write, and anything else you think I should know so I can make an informed decision. I will set up new categories if I like your proposed topic(s) and none of the existing ones are appropriate. Just remember that Blog Diyiin Bi is a Christian blog owned and operated by a conservative Pentecostal pastor, and the Bible is the standard used to determine if the article is appropriate for the blog. That’s why most of the “Pastor Marv Recommends” articles will now be posted to one or the other of the new blogs – I am uncomfortable mixing business and ministry the way it would need to be done in order for the blog to be effective as a commercial enterprise; that would destroy its effectiveness as a ministry tool. The links in Blog Diyiin Bi articles, like those in the two new blogs, do not use the “nofollow” attribute, so links to your own websites will be crawled by the search engines. Links in comments on Blog Diyiin Bi do have the “nofollow” attribute, but that will be changed soon – when the blogging platform is changed from b2evolution to Wordpress.
Both The Go Light and Christian Internet Resources use the Wordpress blogging scripts. Blog Diyiin Bi uses b2evolution. At some time in the near future, Blog Diyiin Bi will be moved to the Wordpress platform, but that will be a major project and will likely result in the blog being down for a short time.
in His service,
Pastor Marv
